Crievewood United Methodist Church Part-time position in Youth Ministry

Crievewood UMC in south Nashville is seeking a part-time staff member to assume responsibility for guiding and directing the youth ministries of this congregation. Spiritual maturity, experience with youth leadership, and the ability to recruit, resource, organize and support other adults in a youth ministries leadership team are qualities being sought. CUMC currently has about 25 youth 7th-12th grades. Part-time Position Available – 19.5 hours per week -- could become full-time position over time

The Foundation for United Methodist Communications seeks a person to manage the daily administrative operations of the office. Job responsibilities include:

1. Provides administrative support for the daily operations of the UMCom Foundation office, handling requests, financial transactions, record keeping, correspondence with donors, and maintains database information. (75%)

2. Provides monthly financial reports to the Executive Director and trustees; helps monitor and track costs related to fundraising activities. (5%)

3. Works with the Executive Director to provide appropriate fundraising cost information to the Board. (5%)

4. Develops a relationship with trustees and other appropriate constituents and donors; coordinates schedules of the staff for special events, teleconferences, meetings and events for the office and the Foundation. (5%)

5. Assists the Executive Director in the development, composition of fundraising materials, implementation, and evaluation of the annual fundraising plan. (5%)

6. Manages special events involving prospects/donor acquisition, cultivation and solicitation. (5%)

7. Provides back-up phone coverage and occasional administrative support to the General Secretary and Executive Director of Administration and any other duties as assigned. (5%)

Requirements: This job requires a post high school education or business school training and at least three years equivalent experience in fundraising or institutional development.

A background in fundraising and public relations and knowledge of non-profit fundraising practices and procedures would be helpful. Excellent written and verbal skills are needed. Computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and donor database are needed. Skills in PowerPoint would be helpful. Knowledge of the structure and polity of The United Methodist Church is needed.

Director of Communicatons for The Illinois Great Rivers Conference of the United Methodist Church

The Illinois Great Rivers Conference of The United Methodist Church is currently receiving applications for the redesigned position of Director of Communications Ministries. The Director will be responsible for all aspects of the Illinois Great Rivers Conference’s communication flow and systems. The Director interprets and promotes the mission, vision, and equipping strategies of the conference within the church and serves the conference as a public witness to the state and federal government. This position requires a demonstrated understanding of church systems and the systematic flow of information within church systems.
