Seeking Organist & Accompanist for First UMC of Dothan, Alabama

We are seeking a talented part-time Organist/Accompanist for Chancel Choir and Worship in a music program featuring choirs for adults, youth, children and hand bells. Bachelor's Degree in music with emphasis in organ performance is preferred, as is a minimum 3-5 years work experience in service playing. Strong skills in piano accompaniment are required. Three traditional Sunday morning worship services are held in the sanctuary of First United Methodist Church in Dothan, AL and focus on liturgy, prayers, preaching, and music in a variety of styles from classical to gospel. Both organ and piano skills are essential.

Epworth United Methodist Church, Durham, North Carolina, seeking Deacon (Associate Pastor)

Epworth United Methodist Church in Durham, NC is seeking a full time Deacon to assist the Senior Pastor in attending to and nurturing the faith development of the parish through education, fellowship, and spiritual growth programs and activities, as well as administrative duties. This is an exciting, full-time opportunity to preach the Word, administer the sacraments, preside over worship services, provide pastoral care and proclaim God's love for the world. Applicant will share in the faith leadership of the people of Epworth UMC, who are joined by their common belief in Jesus Christ. In addition to those responsibilities as laid out in the UMC Book of Discipline, the Deacon will: provide assistance to the Pastor in determining the order and elements of worship; assist with worship (includes the sacraments and preaching); oversee pastoral leadership and guidance for the mission outreach of Epworth; attend Annual Conference and represent the interests of Epworth and the UMC; assist and advise the Director of Children and Youth Ministries with children and/or youth ministry; coordinate and oversee the confirmation program (with support from the DCYM); provide leadership and direction for Christian Education; determine, with the Director of Music Ministries, the content and tone of the contemporary worship service; serve in the visitation program of Epworth; assess the needs of the church and constantly seeks ways to enhance the Diaconal Ministry of Epworth; and provide other assistance as determined by the Pastor.

Qualifications: Desired candidate will have completed the necessary requirements for ordination as a Deacon of the United Methodist Church and will be an ordained member of the Church in good standing. Must also have a vital and growing personal walk with the Lord through committed Bible study and prayer.

Nashville Area Foundation Seeks New Administrative Assistant

The Nashville Area United Methodist Foundation is seeking a person for the position of Administrative Assistant to work with and assist the President of the Foundation in carrying out the mission of the Foundation through administrative support. The full-time position will be vacant in mid-September, and the Personnel Committee of the Foundation seeks to have a replacement named in October.

Résumés should indicate experience in technical and organization skills; experience in office operations and business applications; knowledge of computer programs (e.g, word, excel, PGCalc, Crescendo, and/or others); and levels of knowledge and experience in accounting, trusts, and/or investment procedures and policies.

Hillcrest United Methodist Church, a 625-member congregation off Nolensville Road at Tusculum Road, seeks a Minister of Music and Christian Education.

Hillcrest, a diverse community of believers with members from over 10 countries, seeks someone with vision to strengthen and expand the music and educational ministries of our church, preparing our members for a life of discipleship and service.
